Mandated Reporting Requirements
If a survivor is under 18, 60 or over, or disabled, mandated reporting requires law enforcement, medical personnel, and other professionals to report the assault to authorities:
- Abuse or neglect of all individuals under the age of 18 to the Department of Children and Families.
- Abuse or neglect of a person 60 or older to the Executive Office of Elder affairs.
- Abuse or neglect of a disabled person to the Disabled Persons Protection Commission.
- Abuse or neglect of a person in a long-term care facility or hospital to the Division of Health Care Quality.

If you choose to go to the hospital or report to the police these reporting requirments may limit your options.
